Skater Disintegration

This sequence was a personal challenge to push the Houdini learning process into an unfamiliar area. The idea was to combine recently acquired Houdini skills with video footage, but to do it in a way that preserved the motion of the video footage so the combined result looked convincing. This required using Nuke briefly as well in order to generate and extract motion vectors from the footage to use with Houdini's particle generation. I used myself as the skater so I didn't have to bother anyone else!
